Winter Ecology Camp

  • Teller Wildlife Refuge 1180 Chaffin Road Corvallis (map)

Winter is a wonderful time to take a closer look at the landscape around us and to observe the changes that are happening, especially in relation to survival. Join us for a discovery of winter animals, seasonal changes, and adaptations. This camp will be a mixture of outdoor and indoor games, activities to learn about winter ecology, and some nature-themed art. Students will learn about animal tracking and learn how to make a felted animal or bird that they can take home.

Just as winter weather can be harsh on the animals that live outside; it can also be pretty chilly for campers. I am hoping we will have some snow, but campers should plan to be outside for up to an hour throughout the day. Please send your camper with snow pants, boots, a warm coat, a hat, and mittens or gloves. Teller will provide a winter themed snack and some hot cocoa during the day.
